Approximately 3 billion To-Go cups are consumed in Germany every year, 60% of which are coated with plastic, with 40% being made entirely of plastic. The recycling rate is extremely low; in most cases, these cups are incinerated after their single use.
To change this and enable more sustainable To-Go enjoyment, we are switching our entire range of disposable cups to recyclable paper cups. The To-Go cups of our brands Alfredo Espresso, Café Intención, J.J. Darboven Classics, Burkhof, Sansibar Caffè, and J. Hornig can therefore be used entirely in the spirit of sustainability and being true to the motto "Drink. Enjoy. Recycle.", it can be recycled via the wastepaper. The paper used for the cups is certified, so that in addition to avoiding waste, sustainability is also taken into consideration here thanks to its origin from responsible forestry.
To ensure that the cups are impermeable to liquids despite their paper composition, the plastic coating normally used on the inside is replaced by an environmentally friendly water-based dispersion vanish. This means that the cup can still be recycled and at the same time is absolutely impermeable to liquids. You can therefore enjoy your coffee specialties on the go with an all-round good feeling!
